i was asked by a friend with a huge outdoor pond....where can one acquire a carp or two in Alberta? Or any info on them?

Call fish and wildlife, they might have some grass carp leftover from the season's stocking. Other than that, you probably wouldn't be allowed to introduce the standard european carp found in BC and some eastern provinces.

If no grassies are left this year, they will be available next spring for sure. I think the Livingstone fish hatchery can get them for you.
