What to breed?
I've bred blue gouramis and I have baby convict cichlids. I'm in the process of breeding bettas. Other than the ones I mentioned, are there any suggestions on what fish to try breeding next (except live-bearers, which I might try soon)?

More gouramis! Those are great to breed. Maybe try something rare...make some extra coin selling the stuff back to the store and pay for your hobby...sounds like you have the hang of it..so go for gold! Discus are always good money makers if you want something difficult. Cardinal tetras and neons are also fairly good bang for your buck fish that can be tricky...good luck  ....sorry..jeff forgot to sign off again, Shane

Discus would be cool, but I heard they need lots of room. My biggest tank is 30 gallons (the one with the convicts). Is that big enough to breed them in? I guess if it is I'll have to sell the convicts before I stock it with discus. I'd love to breed dwarf puffers but I haven't heard many success stories with them, so I'm thinking I should work on more easier ones before going to something like that.
Now, if only I could get my damn crickets to hatch!

Oh well. I'm thinking of trying tiger barbs or zebra danios. From what I know they don't need much room to breed. I'll try them out in one of my 10 gal tanks. Angel fish would be cool too, I've also been thinking of neolamprologus leleupi (cichlid) for my 30 gal tank, but I'll probably save it for puffers if I decide to do that. What kind of fish have you successfully bred? (am I talking to Shane or Jeff??)

I'd also like to start a vinegar eel culture. Is there somewhere in ottawa where I can get a starter culture, or is there a way I can start it myself? I've been using Wardley's Liquid Fry food for egglayers but I think I'll have more success and healthier babies with vinegar eels. Does anyone agree/disagree?

if its money you're looking for, do up fancy guppies
they breed like mad and get a decent dollar considering
or try what I'm attempting. sengal bichirs... going to be a toughy

I am a Cichlid freak, so I suggest Apistogramma Cacatuoides
(Dwarf Cichlid) very nice looking fish and a bit of a challenge to breed
