Kane Heat Mat - Neodesha 4ft

Greetings,
I have bought a used 4ft Neodesha cage. I have never used one for my reptiles. I have mostly used home built plywood or tanks with screens. I am wondering if anyone has used Radiant heat panels and a Kane heat mat type set up for this enclosure? With it being slanted using a CHE does not look like a viable option for heating. And with a heat mat being used for the hot spot I'm concerned for ambient temp. I live in NY close to Canada and it gets cold here in the winter. Any thoughts?
