Post Reticulated Python Morph and Localities Guide

Co-Dominant - Mutation is visible in a normal (heterozygous) and super (homozygous dominant) form.
Dominant – Mutation is visible and identical in heterozygous or homozygous dominant form.
Recessive – Mutation is visible in homozygous recessive form. Some mutations have visual ‘hets’ for recessive mutations.
Reticulated Pythons
Mainland- The largest group of retics, can reach 18+ feet.
Dwarf- Middle group, reach 10-16 feet.
Super Dwarf- Smallest group, max at around 8 feet.

Morphs
Recessive Morphs
Clark Albino/Clark Strain 2- T- albino strain (Lacks melanin so cannot produce tyrosinase) Available in 3 Color phases:
White

Purple

Lavender (White X Purple)


Amel/Clark Strain 1- T- albino strain (Lacks melanin so cannot produce tyrosinase) extremely white and commonly have paradoxing


Blonde/Caramel- T+ albino strain (Has tyrosinase but produces less melanin pigments thus can produce reds, browns, and grays)


Pied- Low or high whites.


Orange Ghost Stripe- Contains a dorsal stripe and is high in orange.


Anthrax- Removes all pattern from the back, usually has a darkened eye, and extends the rossets into lines down the side

Has a visual het known as Graniteback


Genetic Striped- Removes all patterns except a single dorsal stripe which can be full, or broken.


Anery (Anerythristic)- No red pigmentation.


Titanium- Removes all pattern.

Has a semi-visual het known as Citron which works as a color enhancer with other morphs.


Dominant Morphs
Golden Child- Dwarf species with no pattern and little to no rosettes.


Motley- Affects the pattern.

Phantom- Similar to orange ghost stripe but less intense.


Jaguar- Pattern reducer/ color enhancer, silver coloration.


Co-Dominant Morphs
Sunfire- Color Enhancer with intense orange and gold, last ⅓ of body has “melting rosettes”.
Het/normal form

Super/homozygous dominant form


Tiger- Vertebral striping, yellowish coloration, extensions of white dots.
Het/normal form

Super/homozygous dominant form


Platinum/Ivory- Color enhancer that intensifies yellows and reduces pattern.
Het/normal form known as Platinum- Intensifies when crossed with Citron

Super/homozygous dominant forms comes in three phases: Ivory, Ultra Ivory and Black Eyed Lucy

Black Eyed Lucy (Usually are weak and die)




Localities
Mainland
Sumatra- Appearance of snake varies widely





Java- Creamy colors with silvers and browns

Sulawesi/Yellow Heads- Largest, up to 4 black dots on head, gold/green eyes



Ambon & Ceram Yellow Heads- Bright yellow heads.



Thailand & Vietnam Yellow Heads- Do not get as large, but are larger than dwarfs. Used in Bob Clark’s Yellow head line.


Manilla- Dashes and dots on head, donut patterns on body, dark pigment on dorsal area, silver eyes

Davao & Cotabato- Aberrant patterns, marks on head, little to no silver on sides, orange eyes




Dwarf
Selayar- (8-13ft) Usually have oddly colored eyes. Golden Child + Genetic stripe morph originated here.


Jampea- (8-16 ft) Faded pattern with silver/copper eyes

Super Dwarfs
Kalatoa: 5-9 feet



Kayuadi: 7-10 feet

Wow this is great, thank you for taking the time to post up all this morph info on retics! I have to say Graniteback is one of my favorites.

Thanks this is pretty cool.

Now for the morphs can you do more of who originated which morph and which locale each one was sourced from, if it matters that is.
