Question Shedding two times within a couple weeks?

My 2 y/o Mexican black king shed on July 27th last month, but it looks like his eyes are going milky and he's looking dull again like he's gonna shed... Would this be a normal thing?

No, not really. Could have gotten scratched on some cage furniture and maybe is shedding to heal. Also can be a symptom of external parasites. I'd do a good once over to look for mites and such.

Thumbs up Re: Shedding two times within a couple weeks?

Hmm. Maybe, He seems to climb on his meters when I go to sleep lol. Ive
caught him a couple times then watched him fall off onto his plant, And god knows how many times that's happened without me noticing. So could just be an Injury,
Thanks for the info

I wouldn't be concerned either - if this happens again then I'd investigate further but as a one off I don't think it's anything untoward.

Re: Shedding two times within a couple weeks?

When I got my MBK it had some skin issues and was going into shed in a continuous cycle one after the other for 6-7 sheds in a row until it was healed again... Agree with jjhill, either some damage or parasitic nature, might not be too easy to catch parasites on a black snake.

Usually parasites can also be found due to the snake's behavior... snakes rub they heads into any surfaces up to the point they damage the scales (not the usual "why can't I pass through glass" behavior). And soaking in the water bowl is unusual for a kingsnake, so that might also be an indicator for a more personal investigation.
