Smile need some tips on shelters

i have an cali kingsnake 1.50 m adult female.

well first she had a shelter it was an upside down bowl. so yesterday i wemt to my pet shop and bought a piece of wood. for her new as an new shelter and removed the bowl my terraria is 1m by 50 cm. how ever she isnt laying under the wood she lays under her water bowl. what should i do put the old bowl back?
remove the wood? or does she need time to explore?

Does she have a multiple choice of hiding spots - she may just like where the water bowl is the viv rather than actually prefer it as a hide.

All my snakes have 3 or 4 options for hiring and utilise them all from time to time but with a preference for certain ones.

Also is the wood one a nice snug hide - snakes like to feel secure when hiding.
