updates

sorry i didn't respond to the last one, was doing memorial day things yesterday. still trying to figure out how to get those pictures from my neighbor's phone to my computer, but i do have good news.

for those that haven't read my past threads, i'd received a extremely skinny monitor from outback reptiles that wasn't feeding.

i know someone asked for the temp of the basking spot after making adjustments, it's now reading 130F.

(just gonna call it a female, though gender is still unknown for the moment)
she's been burrowing around, spending a lot less time under her basking spot. been coming out of hiding to cruise around. this morning i flipped on her lights when i woke up, she came out of hiding shortly after and sat in her basking spot for maybe a minute or two before walking around her enclosure.

while i was gone yesterday majority of the superworms and waxworms i'd set out were eaten, so she did eat yesterday.

gonna put out a hopper/small mouse(it's a bit between those sizes) sliced in half.

Re: updates

Hi, good to hear the monitor`s eating, it has to be expected that their appetite will be affected before acclimation. The basking spot temp is fine. The photos will be even more appreciated because of the loooong wait!

If shes the size of the one that you had posted a picture of, or similar, you probably won't need to slice it in half.
