No it won't, I house my BRB that way to keep hunidity
But ball pythons dont really need to be kept in
A tub, a 20gallon glass tank is fine.

A glass tank is fine as long as you don't have a screen lid and you cover 3 sides of the glass with something to offer them more security. Normally tubs are easier to use due to less modification being needed.

A UTH is perfectly fine to use on a tub as long as you have a thermostat. I would never use any heat source without a thermostat.

Re: UTH and platic tub enclosure

I keep my tape @95 deg on my dubia tubs, it's not as hot as it sounds. But let me second what Kat said about thermostat, it's a must have JR. I use Hydrofarm Digital Thermostat but there are several different ones around. Maybe some of the others will share what they use.

Re: UTH and platic tub enclosure

I use Flexwatt on a thermostat with my tubs and have no issues. I may be wrong on this assumption, but if the UTH is hot enough to melt plastic, it's too hot for the snake anyway.
