Hatchling Western

I recently acquired a hatchling male western who was supposed to be eating frozen pinkies but he doesn't want to eat anything. He is in a 10 gallon with temps of 88 on warm side and 80 on cool (cooler at night). He has aspen snake bedding, a cave, and water dish. What I was wondering is how long can a 5-6" hoggie go without eating and if he continues to turn down pinkies would it be safe to offer an African dwarf aquatic frog, either frozen or live, as a food item to get him going? or to even scent the food?
