Wow! Children's Pythons!

I was cruising the web and came across what is known as a Children's Python. This "new-bee" thinks they are pretty awesome. Anybody in here keep them or have kept them? To my understanding, they can be difficult to find...which would lead to $$$!?

I saw some of them on fauna not too long back, i dont remember the price but i like their looks and what they are called

If you look in the right places they arent hard to find, and not rare at all, very easy species to breed one of the easiest pythons to breed

Children's Python = Antaresia Childreni

They occur across northern Australia,from northern western Australia, and the Northern Territory,to north western Queensland

they are an easy species to keep imo

they are amongst Australia's smallest Pythons,with an average adult length of about 1 metre

I'm thinking once I get my Ball rolling (ha), down the road I may look into a Children's. Would you consider Children's "easier" than Balls? Their husbandry looks almost identical.

Some breeders here in Iowa, they go for between 50 and 75 bucks a peice

I keep 1.1 childrens, and they are great! Super easy to care for and have great personalities. I keep them with a 90 degree hotspot, a hide on both ends, a humid hide, and a water bowl. They have both never missed a meal. I highly recommend them and as stated above, they usually run about 50-75 bucks.

Awesome! I'm having success with my first BP and am considering a Children's in the distant future. They get around 3' or so?

I'm hopefully getting an (09) female Childrens Python this week and hopefully find a male at a later stage to breed from but there supposedly like the Spotted Python, I've only kept Royals so they will be new to me. I have a care sheet on file if someone wants it, they dont grow very big but I think that is their appeal in some cases.
