Changing to frozen food

So my BP hasn't eaten since the beginning of October. I have been wanting to switch to frozen for awhile now, so my question is, would it be easier to switch to frozen now?

Tried feeding her today and she didn't eat.

Offer an f/t rat overnight, see how it goes. I switched my BP directly from live mice to f/t rats by waiting it out for 5mos (meaning only offering f/t rats as a food source). Now he takes f/t rats every time. Good luck!

Re: Changing to frozen food

try her with a fresh killed rat, straight after you euthanize the rat, puncture the skull 3 or 4 times, with 1 side of a pair of scissors, until grey liquid comes out (brain matter),then offer straight away on a set of feeding tongs

cheers shaun

What is the best way to euthanize the rat? If she doesn't take it, a, I able to freeze the rat without any problem?

i would get her feeding using the SAME method you used, when she ate regular for you before

ONLY once she's eating regular, would i try fresh killed...

once she takes 3 or 4 feeds on fresh killed..

i would try frozen thawed

cheers shaun
