green tree python X carpet python offspring

does anyone have any info on these or have one. ive seen a lot of cool pics about them but have never seen one in person. Are they really as colorful as the pics i see on the internet? do they keep their color patterns throughout their lives? can you breed any carpet python type with green tree python to get those?

Re: green tree python X carpet python offspring

yes they're that colorful, but the color and pattern depends on the adults used.
yes they maintain their color and pattern, but like all snakes it can change a little bit with each shed. What I'm not sure of is if they go through a color shift as they mature from babies to adults, but once adults they don't change much.
yes you can, different localities will yield different looking offspring.

If the father is a carpet, it will have a carpet pattern, the same if the father is a green.
Their very beautiful hybrids.

Re: green tree python X carpet python offspring

where in orange are you reptileexpets.
my gf likes how they look and the way i see it even if they dont produce anything i still get a green tree python out of it and if they do i at least can keep one of the babies. does anyone have advice on how to pick out a gtp some ppl have told me to go for the reds others have told me it doesnt matter because almost all of them will end up all green. i have also heard that ones from specific locations give you more chances of blues and yellows

Re: green tree python X carpet python offspring

while I can't advise you on the locality aspect, I would definitely say go for something that would increase the blues and whites. At least that's what I would do. Possibly my favorite carpondro I've ever seen pics of.

My Male GTP (Unknown locale - but presumed a mix of highland locales due to blue line down his back - though it is faint).

If I was to buy a GTP just to work with Carpondros with, I would do Aru or Sorong . . . or Cyclops if you really want to spend the money to get the blues.
