Black eyes

Hi all, I haven't posted in some time but could use some help.
I am fostering a RTB (16 yrs old) for a couple months. It was a rescue, peeled off the back of a fridge it had been on for two weeks. The scars are healing well and is a very, very sweet guy. I acquired him yesterday from the guy nursing him back to health.
My problem is that his eyes are completely black, my other friend examined it and said it appears they are dilated. They are like this all the time regardless of the lighting. All of his behavior is fine.
Any thoughts?

Re: Black eyes

I have never seen a RTB with completely jet black eyes. No color anywhere in them. Tis why I am reaching out here.
