bad news

i know you guises havent heard from me befor , but i am curentlly housing my savannah monitor in a 150 sterilite tub. basking temps are ushally 135-140 , ambient temps are 100-90 on hot side 85-75 on cold side . dirt and sand mixture and it is about 10in deep . humidity is 60 and up all day . he eats like a champ , nightcrawlers crickests and mice . i am upgrading the cage november . he is 5 months old and about 12in snout to tip . advice please give it to me and dont hold back

How long is your tub?

What are you using to measure the temps and humidity? Do you have any photos?

pics are worth a thousand words. It will let us see how far along you are on knowledge. Big difference between reading something vs applying something so get pics up. Plastic tubs work well when monitors are small so a pic of the tub in question with monitor easily visiable would help us judge animal size to cage size.

pics and we can help. the tubs are effective with neonates but thats it. large wood enclosures are the standard with monitors.
