Question MORE Questions!

YES. I have more questions. Sorry about that, lol.
I'm still somewhat of a noob when it comes to BP's. Here are some things I'm unsure on...want to be sure about these things!

1. Kalis is 210g, 24", 2.5 mo old. Is this a good weight-length-age ratio?

2. I currently feed Kalis every 5 days. Is this good? At what age (or weight?) do you change this? When do you begin feeding every 7 days, and so on?

3. I think it was Mykee that told me a while back that you change tub size when he reaches around 500g. What size tub do you up-size to at that time?

4. Is aspen ok if I can't find cypress mulch? How do you prevent it from molding? Humid hide with moss instead of misting the whole enclosure? (I don't really want to use paper towels or newspaper)

Thanks...

Re: MORE Questions!

1. That's a massive snake at that age. My first baby from July only surpasses that.

2. You can switch to every 7 days now. His growth will slow down a bit but nothing bad will come of it.

3. After they outgrow their baby tub I put them into an adult tub. Which is the Rubbermaid #2221.

4. Aspen is fine. I don't use it except for my KSB and for them it's aspen Beta Chip. Very small bit sized pieces so if they swallow it, it will pass through them. For humidity, ensure he's got a proper sized bowl and when it comes to shed time just spill some water into the bin.

Wow, ok, I must be doing something right then, lol. He's chunky, but he doesn't look "fat". I will change his feedings to every 7 days then. He will be upset at me...if a snake could be upset. He is the hungriest snake I have seen lol. He would probably eat every 2 days if I let him, apparently unusual for a BP to be that willing to eat, isn't it? Maybe I'm lucky.

I just recently saw a terrible photo on another website of a BP that is a YEAR OLD and is the same length as my BP, but skinnier. The poor thing. I wish people would give their snakes enough food...

PS: every time he has shed he has done so in one-piece. (except one time there was a bit stuck to his tail tip)
