Exclamation is this normal?

so its been about 2 weeks now that i have had my ball python Mar and it seems like i never see Mar out of the hide that has the UTH under it... never see um in the water or hanging around on his sticks. i have to take Mar out of the hide to feed um and then after mars got it all down back inside the hide

is this normal for the snake to stay in the hide all the time?

Re: is this normal?

Yes. If you want an active snake get a colubrid.

In time you'll probably see more of your snake when it gets more comfortable in his new surroundings.

Yes. Very normal. Ball pythons are very secretive snakes. He probably explores at night while you sleep. Just make sure your husbandry is right.

Re: is this normal?

Yup typical ball behavior. Hide all day, hunt at night. Another reason I prefer carpets. Even if they sit all day it's usualy in plain sight and they get active at dusk and early morning.

Re: is this normal?

Typical for a Ball Python.

My Ball Python spends 95% of his time hidden away, my Carpet spends 95% of his time displayed on his branch...
