It has been totally crazy busy around here, but decided to take some time to share some babies I hatched this year. Lots more pics just need to find the time to post.

Wow, some of the head patterns tricked me into thinking I was seeing corns. Those are very beautiful kings, for sure.

Not yet, but I am working on some from this line.

I am also working with the Coffey line aberrants that throw some zig zag type patterns. Here's a pic of one of my 2013 breeders.

There are some snakes that have similar head patterns.(i.e. L.t.triangulum, L.c.calligaster...)

That striped alterna looks like some of the striped thayeri Paul Lynum just acquired last year....
The leonis in these pics looks more like it...
The MSP looks similar to the Ruthveni mutation....

John, True true.....I have all the parental lineage on those GBK's and where they came from. Do you know the year when Lemke figured out the aberrant/striped gene in L.ruthveni? Those striped GBK's were first produced in 1995, and were from F1 adults. I hope you are not insinuating hybrids???

No I am not insinuating hybrids at all.....
Paul Lynum's Thayeri are from line bred pure animals too.....
If you know Paul, he wouldn't have hybrids. Hell, he's the one who got busted with the Aramberri female that VR had......

Lemke found the male in 1983 that produced in that year or the next year.
His offspring produced some of the first aberrants/partially striped in the late 80s.

Since then they have been bred off and on. There was a period of time where only one person had them and they weren't being bred until JM and SB got them in the early 2000s.

I'm actually trying to make a point that it seems all of these Mexican kings (alterna included) are closely related. They all have similar mutations.....Ruthveni, Thayeri and Alterna......All with some similar characteristics.....It doesn't surprise me at all that they do either.....

I would have to dig up the email but if my memory serves me correctly yes they were BG. I thought that was the point you were trying to make as well. I think a lot of the genes available in one sub-species will show its' head in others closely related. You know what else is really cool that there has been a lot of double mutations that come out of a single mutant animal. Amel pyros - hypos, Anery GBK-hypos,Anery gentilis-hypos.

I am thinking your striped mex mex will look similar but more like the tessera gene in corns is what I am picturing....

I found that picture a few weeks ago and just remembered where it was....lol
I don't know the guy that owns it or the history on it.

But there was a guy on another forum that posted one as well.......a few years ago.....I will see if I can dig it up too.....
I think they are neat looking.

There's also a long blotched alterna that is striped with orange that is not broken by the ground color.....
