Re: different bedding?
Doesn't Walmart have aspen? Or you could use paper towels. I think both pine and cedar are toxic to reptiles so I'd avoid them.

Pine is a no-no. Cedar is a death sentence.

Re: different bedding?
Not sure if you have one near you, but we have a store called 'Tractor Supply' and they have huge bags of aspen for $10.00. Best deal I've found so far.

Re: different bedding?
Yup here un Canada a bag of Zoomed aspen is about $15 and not even enough for one of my boa tanks but I found a place(Rens pet supplies) that sells lab grade aspen in an 8 cubic foot package for $12. So thats about the equivalent of $150 worth o the Zoomed stuff. I can change out all of my snakes 3 times on 2 bags. Beat deal I have found yet. Also about cypress, I have found only 1 place that sells 100% pure cypress. The rest say cypress but are actually blended with pine and cedar so be careful.

Re: different bedding?
Now that I think about it, the big bag (8 cu ft maybe) is $10.99 or $11.99. Still really good stuff. We can do all ours about 3 times with a bag. Of course it depends how much I accidentally spill on the floor.
