very nice, wish I could keep mine outdoors. It's nice to see it in the water, I rarely seen a salvadorii in water. does this one go in often? on hot days? or just anytime

Thanks guys. He or she is still fairly young, almost a year old and around seven feet long. (I believe.)

Philip, this is actually not quite outdoors. It is inside the Rainforest Pyramid, which is essentially an extremely large greenhouse. Usually it doesn't go in the water, and if it does it usually just swims across and gets out.

oh I see. 7ft for a year is good mine are under that at 2.5 years old though I only had them 6 months and they both grew 1ft in that time, both from differant people. can it get to where it was going without using the water? or is the only route through the water.

Yes, it can choose to not go through the water.

My wc would jump into their water bowls and submerge themselves for 20mins sometimes. It wasn't their first choice for a hide but they used it often. That was about the only time I could deal with Spaz since he was crazy.

interesting, I not seen or heard of many croc monitors who enjoy water/ use it but now I know of 3 including the two on here good to hear. I tried a large water 3ft by 2ft by 1.5ft deep in my enclosures on the first day the female fall into hers but came out very quickly then I never witnessed either use it again even with ipcams on record 24/7. so after 1 month I took them out.

I wouldn't say they enjoyed it but only used it for security. I had large cages with lots of hiding but water was used often. Konga and hellbound liked a light misting though. They would drink the water from puddles that developed while spraying them. A few other salvadorii keepers have seen the same thing. They don't seem to like dirty water that isn't flowing and really fresh.

I would agree with this, mine enjoy a good spray with spray bottle when I use the hose pipe they not so keen LOL, they mainly drink from water bowl not long after it's changed but I have seen both drinking the spray of the walls and sometimes while im spraying them.
