Lucky find

After getting home from all of the craziness yesterday, my partner and I decided to head to the pool to relax. When we got out and were walking back, I saw something in the fence that I knew I just HAD to grab! It was a beautiful little Yellow Rat snake. Some people call 'em trash snakes, but I still think they're awesome in their own right. Sorry for the picture quality, but it was night, and we only had an iPhone for pictures.

After our quick little photo thing, we let him go back into his bush.

Thanks for looking!

Surprisingly, NO! This is the first yellow rat I've ever held that hasn't wanted to eat my face. S/he was a real sweetie, and I was VERY tempted to hold onto him/her, but there's few enough wild snakes around here. This is the first wild YR I've seen that wasn't on someone's table at an expo.

Cool, at least it's still your neighbor...
