Nice pics, that would be fun finding "exotic" species that you dont see in the wild (where you live). Always fun herping in new places.

That snake is definitely poisonous..I'm pretty sure it's a Bothrops jararaca
Can anyone give a 100% ID on it?
The tri-colour is Lystrophis semicinctus...these are seen in the pet trade from time to time...
Nice pics
Chris

should have heard me shreek like alittle girl when it came towards me
that Lystrophis semicinctus is part of the hog nose family right? If it is, its one of the most beautiful ones i've ever seen. It did the whole "fake death" thing when I went near him.

I'm pretty sure it's closely related, and it's a little more venomous than Heterodon as well. Beautiful snakes
I would've been running in all directions screaming if I was in your shoes...LOL

I went into the Amazon of peru for a few weeks while living in South America and some of the insects i saw were insane. I have a pict if i can find it that looks like a spider mixed with a scorpion and some awsome frogs and toads

Loll!! Same here ... if that spider came ANYWHERE near me I would just freak ... start jumping all over the place or something!!! I don't mind observing them through glass ... but besides that I'd rather be far away as possible from them!!
People think I'm weird ... I have snakes, lizards, crickets, rats and mice all over my house, yet I can't stand the sight of a simple house spider withour freaking out!!! loll!!! Must be something wrong with me .....
Beautiful pics, by the way! That hognose has amazing colors!! Must have been a great trip!!
