My hungry watermelon hoggie
Don't let this sweet face fool you......
He may look like a cute, adorable, sweet little green and pink and beige thing.....
But he's actually a greedy little brat!
I had to make him stop trying to bite and EAT me THREE times while trying to take all of these photos! (He's not biting me here...just really wanting to..had to move him and my thumb to get him to stop lol)
Now that I know the signs....only took one giant swollen hand to figure it out. The first time he ever bit me, i couldn't figure out what he was doing...the second time i was holding him and not watching....then got bit....THIS time, i SAW him trying to eat me and could stop him *lol*
Anyway, his fresh shed reminds me of watermelon. He's so green, with pink flecks, in person! I love him, even if he wants to eat me!
Here's a shed pic. He left me a nice shed roll inside today, so that prompted the pics. Opened up the sauna last week to find this...

Re: My hungry watermelon hoggie
Hoggies get very blue eyes and milky bellies. My other male is due for a shed any day now, as he already had his eyes turn.
Perry really surprises me with his personality. Copper is docile, sweet, gentle, and would never try to eat me ...lol
Perry hisses, bumps, wiggles in excitement when eating, and has tried at least six times now to eat ME! I am just in love with his jerky little attitude *lol*

Nice little green and pink and beige thing, blue eyes are amazing. Watch out and don't get eaten.

Re: My hungry watermelon hoggie
That is a really nice green hog. Not too many hogs are truely green. That one is a nice example of one that is. Very nice.

It's pretty awesome that no matter what he tries to eat your fingers.

Re: My hungry watermelon hoggie
It actually cracks me up. He just slowly tries to nom me. He starts pushing with his nose, then just opens his jaws...I managed to catch him going for it each time during this photo session. The first time he did it, i didn't know what he was doing...that's when i thought it was that my hands still smelled like frog. The second time, the big bite thread, was i was holding him but wasn't looking. He was just pushing his face against my finger and next thing i know had his teeth sinking in. That's when okay, i thought my hands still smelled like fish. This time i'd just gotten out of the shower, so unless he likes soap, it's just me he wants to eat *lol*
I did feed him trout yesterday when i was feeding my garters. Sprinkled a little calcium powder on it and he ate it like it was the best thing ever *shrug* he's a weirdo!
As for green, i LOVE his green! It's brighter each time he sheds. I keep asking around for a green female to breed him to some day. I think the little jerk is awesome! LOL
