Agree, it's a normal Colombian red tail boa, or Boa constrictor imperator.

I don't like seeing the bci's labeled as a "Colombian Red Tail" because they are not.
BB has it correct. It's a common boa constrictor.

I agree with this, although the pet trade labels them as such, so I tend to include that name when speaking to beginners.

Well, ya know...if you want good information, the pet shop is the last place you should go. It's rather like asking a MacDonald's burger flipper for gourmet meal preparation tips - it's not their fault, they're just not paid enough to bother learning, and they'd probably be told to stop learning and get back to work if they tried because it's a business.
