This is my new sulcata tortoise. ive had him for about 1.5-2 months and he is doing well.
Day i got him.
Now- outside-
He is eating basicly all spring mix. It is what the breeder had him eating, and i stuck with it... he also gets some other greens mix in, grass, hay, and dandilions.
i soak him 4 times a week, and i mist the table everyday to keep the potting soil moist, basking is right around 95, cool end is 75, and the middle is 80-82. i really like the temp range hes got, and he uses all 3 zones.

Re: Profile: Bowser
inside enclosure-
Outside pen-
he spends all day outside, when im home, i dont trust the top screen enough to leave him out when im not home. its a work in progress for both, the table, and outdoor pen.
inside enclosure is a 4x2x2 tort "table" (old BRB cage with mods) hes got a heating rock, 2 water dishes and a food "plate" witch is the top to a tub, lol. hes got plenty of room to roam and graze, and i tried to plant grass in there, but cant get it to grow...
outside pen-
is 6x3' with a very cheap screen top, i need to fix that asap, i have some flowers planted in there for him, few hides so far, and about 6 inches of soil... i dug the dirt out, so from dirt to top of pen is a foot.. around 18'' deep in total. he seems to really like it outside....
i took dandilions, barley grass seeds, and some "tortoise grazing mix" and planted all over the pen... hopfully when it starts to grow, it will be nice and green for him.
thanks for looking.

aww that's cool! i like it when someone really seems to plan ahead for their tortoise. They will usually live longer than their keeper! They are truly awesome animals. Good job!!

Re: Profile: Bowser
just a fast pic while cleaning/moving stuff today. he is diong very well, eating like a boss and growing.
he might not be growing as fast as what sulcatas should be, but the only thing i feed him is tortoise mix, spring mix, some fruts... im still nervous to try anything else, concidering what happened with my last sulcata.
