This is not my ad, but I found it and I always like to share a good ad find. I dont have any friends interested so I thought I would post on here. I would probably act quick anything free im sure goes quick. Its been posted for 7 hours so plenty of time to act on it.

That spelling is being used because local by-law officials create alerts for keywords to crack-down on offenders keeping illegal animals. If they posted 'boa', dudes in uniforms would be knocking at their door and they wouldn't be smiling

They don't all do it, but it does happen. Keeping illegals and being smart about it is one thing, but if you're going to advertise that you have them and provide your address and contact info like that, well, you kinda deserve what comes next. Unfortunately it impacts the sensible and responsible keepers out there too, so use your head, people

really only counts if you are right downtown or in suburbs.

because for where I live they have prohibited all farm animals but everyone around the town has farm animals, and it only matters if you let your neighbours know

waterloo looks a bit different, anything over 3m is prohibited so 9.84 ft

Well, they're not *specifically* prohibited as in mentioned by name, but the catch is that they will be considered to attain an adult length of over 2 metres, so you can count them out, really.

On that same note, I wouldn't sit out where anyone can see you with a Carpet python, either because they'll also fall under that category

I thought you would have an updated link that's the same one they shoved in his face. He exact defense was he bought it at a pet store, that didn't fly. For some reason they are able to sell them?

Yeah, that "I bought it in a pet shop" will never work. It'll get the owners of the shop in hot water, but it won't save the buyer's butt.

There are some really funky by-laws out there. For instance, here in Fat City you can't own or sell anything over 2M, but you can display them. Now, logic would dictate that if an 8 foot boa was on display somewhere, that it's gotta be owned by somebody. If by-law asks who owns it and nobody pipes-up to claim that it's theirs, they take it away and they won't be looking for a home for it; it'll be euthanized.

I think the most tricky laws in Canada can be found in Québec. They don't specifically name very many animals at all as being prohibited, but instead leave it up to the attending officer's discretion as to whether or not the animals in question is 'dangerous' or not. If they're having a bad day or they don't know anything about a 5 foot snake, you can be quite sure it'll be deemed dangerous and that gives that officer the authority to destroy the animal on the spot. It's a case of absolute unquestionable authority, yet for some reason the vast majority of folks living in QC think what they have is legal because it's not specifically listed in the Prohibited Animals section of their legislature and didn't bother to keep reading the rest of the by-law provisions.

The moral here is *always* read your city/town's *full* ordinances regarding Pets & Animals. Leave no stone unturned and don't consider yourself in the know until you've read the entire thing. Also of note is that these laws can change without so much as a notice, so it's a wise thing to check back regularly to make sure you're up to date
