White mites?

Soo... Im in the process of cleaning everything out (as i do every month or so) and noticed a few tiny little white crawly things on the bottom of a rock that I had in my rainbow boas cage.
She looks completely clean, as does everything else (though I will go and bleach out everything, sterilize it all, etc. just in case.)

I know mites are black or brown..

what are these?

Re: White mites?

They're wood mites. They're 100% harmless to your reptiles. In fact, they are quite beneficial if setting up a bio-active enclosure, as they help to eliminate waste.

thank you!

that was my suspicion, but I'd rather take a better safe than sorry approach.

I'll just continue with my "normal" cleaning for the month then.

*whew*
