Shopping day!!!

Weeeeee!!!

Am I forgetting something?

Suggestions welcome!

For the BRB baby:

heating pad
at least 3 hides
fake plants
water dish
something for climbing
bedding... I think I'll go with reptibark or cypress mulch
thermo
hygro
a tub in case he seems too stressed in the 20g

For both snakezillas:

bathing tub
thermostat

Looks good. Just my preference, but I'd do ReptiBark instead of cypress for a baby. Also consider EcoEarth soil. (Coconut husk)

Most of all, have fun shopping and setting up the new cage!

Re: Shopping day!!!

Do live plants do well in EcoEarth? I really like the stuff but I keep hearing it's too messy

Honestly, I love the stuff. I guess it can be as messy or neat as you make it, right? Perfect to hold humidity, great for spot clean-up. I've never tried live plants in it, but I dont see any reason it would not work.

Re: Shopping day!!!

Absolutely! I put ReptiBark on top of Eco-Earth. Best of both worlds and an even more natural appearance.

Awesome idea. This is what I'm doing

I used ecoearth for my hermit crabs for a while and liked it a lot

Re: Shopping day!!!

If you mix the Repti-Bark in with the Eco-Earth, it lets more air into the soil, which helps it dry also. Remember, you don't want the ground ALWAYS damp. When you see it dry out a bit, give it a quick spray. If it's ALWAYS wet, it will get very musty and will eventually mold. Remember, it's "Mold Resistant" not "Mold Proof!"

What you consider a hassle, some might consider a fun little project. Just sayin'.

Maybe the plants will help soaking up excess moisture? I have 2 so far.
