"Green" Plastic Vivariums
As those of you in the UK are probably aware getting our hands on plastic Boaphile style vivaria is pretty difficult and damn expensive.
The cheapest 4x2x2ft boaphile i found when i was looking last year was over £800 (without going secondhand)
Anyway, i have recently discovered these Eco Vivariumns,Eco Vivs , Plastic Vivariums, The Green Alternative to Reptile Housing they are made of recycled plastics so fulfill our eco needs, being plastic they are humidity/water proof, you can drill the plastic to attach heatbulb guards and access temp probes into the viv without worrying about humidity warping the materials. All sounds almost too good to be true!!!
A 4x2x2ft viv works out at £199!!!!!!! :WOW:
I will be seeing these vivs in person in the next couple of weeks and will add any feedback to this thread at that point, so far i have only seen the online stuff.

Wow, those look nice and they're nicely priced too. Report back to us when you've seen them in person.

Re: "Green" Plastic Vivariums
Visited the reptile shop today and took a good look at these vivs, when we have the cash available i will definitely upgrade all my vivs to these guys - they look very nice, are well constructed and seem perfect for the job

Re: "Green" Plastic Vivariums
Will be quite a while before we are able to afford them - they do have them in the shop being used with both UTH and CHE with what appears to be no issues

Re: "Green" Plastic Vivariums
They look really nice. I was wondering about the heat thing too though. I was more or less wondering if they put out any type of odor? You know that nasty smell plastic gets when it gets a little to warm.

Re: "Green" Plastic Vivariums
I love the idea. Are they actually reptile safe? Heat safe? Humidity safe? If so, that's super awesome.

Re: "Green" Plastic Vivariums
I read that, but in a pet store it's really difficult to see the long term effects on an animal. I'm still pretty excited about it, though.

Re: "Green" Plastic Vivariums
I agree with that, the ones they are using have been in use with both CHE and UTH for well over 3 months now with no obvious signs of any issues.
I trust the shop owner implicitly and he wouldnt put any of his animals at risk in something that he was even slightly unsure of.
