I know when my snake is going to Poo
I have had Gary for about 5 weeks now, and I know when he is going to poo. He has never made a mess in his viv. I take him out every day except for the 2 days after he has fed, and he always gets quite active .... then he crawls over my hand, perches his bum over the end and Poos. I have now got into the habit of keeping paper towel handy and I just slip this under his tail at the right time. What a clever boy.

A potty-trained snake. Great work!

Re: I know when my snake is going to Poo
I have been really lucky when it comes to snake poop. All of my snakes seem to have a spot they like to poop in their viv's and they never seem to run through it afterwards. I spot clean every night as needed and have avoided all issues.

Re: I know when my snake is going to Poo
Ive only been pooped on once. I had Vanessa out too long when she was little and when it happened I was like, "ok its time for you to go back now". It must be nice to have a potty trained snake as others have said.

Re: I know when my snake is going to Poo
My king snake used to poop on me when he was a baby all the time. It's weird all my larger snakes love to poop inside their hides and lay right on top of their poop. It's so gross. I wish they would poop some where else!

Re: I know when my snake is going to Poo
All my snakes find a corner in the tub, even Vanessa, which wouldnt be bad except that they tend to partially miss the newspaper. Makes cleaning really fun. :S

Re: I know when my snake is going to Poo
mine just does it in the corner on the cool side of the tub, as far away from where he normally is as possible, it seems!
I'd love to see the video of a potty trained snake, that's just awesome!

Re: I know when my snake is going to Poo
My burms will poo and slither all in it, getting it not only on themselves, but on the sides of their tubs as well!
I always know when one of my dumerils girls is going to pee or poo when I have her out. She'll be real active then get completely still. I've had to hang her over my trash can quite a few times. I'd rather them give me some sort of signal than get it all over me lol
BTW, she's a little over 4 feet now and poos like a big dog!
