Field Photography... TONS of pics.

Here is a gianormous medley of photos I have taken out in the field... I spend every spare moment I get herping!!!

This female garter was absolutely enormous... they are all like that at my favorite spot.

Curious water snake is curious.

A huge, gravid female smooth green snake:

Beautiful red belly on this lass

Thamnophis are social critters and almost always bask in groups!

This is one of my favorite images of all time.

I laid in a puddle for this shot!

Not a herp, but it was a cool sighting

These are both fully grown ADULTS... this is a size comparison between the red bellied snake and the eastern garter

This wild garter took a worm right out of my hands. This was the best i could do once she pulled it into the weeds

Contemplating that next leap...

I lifted a rock and the cricket and spider ran for the same hole... the spider took the opportunity.

A pretend cottonmouth.

Re: Field Photography... TONS of pics.

Again! So stunning!
we have tons of those tiny little toads at the cottage during the summer, they are soooo cute!

One time at the cottage our younger neighbour was over and we were entertaining him in a pile of dirt and he found one of those black salamander things with the yellow spots and tried to eat it...

These photos are AMAZING! You are SO lucky to see all that in the wild!! I noticed you said some where in PA...where in PA?

I am all for seeing snakes and creepy crawlies... but those giant flying insect things scare the life out of me!! Your photography demonstrates obvious talent Out of curiosity, what camera do you use?

Re: Field Photography... TONS of pics.

You guys might be surprised to hear that I am shooting with an unmodified panasonic lumix DMC fz-18 with no extra equipment added!!! It certainly does it's job for having only cost $400 when it was new!!!! I will someday upgrade, but for now it's serving me very well. I strive to prove to people, it is not the camera you use, it's the person behind the lens!
