Re: Bluetongue skink
Speaking of us not getting things right, over here we call that a shingle back skink. What we call blue tongue skinks are the ones with the long tails and the stripes. We should just refer to everything by their Latin names. Ha.
I'm very jealous, though. I've wanted one of those for a while.

Nope... you are definitely right it is a shingleback or stumpies as we call them here. Mine's a Tiliqua rugosa aspera, I have always just refered to her as my "bluey" as they also have bluetoungues...
A wild one I've come accross in my travels saying "whazzzzup"

Re: Bluetongue skink
You really don't know how jealous that makes me. And by the way, as previously mentioned, I totally would not be surprised if we were getting things wrong over here.

Lets see if we can make the jealousy worse
All wild ones
These next two guys were only 8 inches long cutest little critters I've bumped into in the wild.

Re: Bluetongue skink
I love the color on the last one. The proper bluey is very pretty, too. I'd like to get my hands on a silver northern.

Does he have silvers? There's a breeder in Denver who occasionally has silvers. Mmmmm they are pretty!
Kayla- yes! They evolved to look like they have two heads so would be stalking predators can't tell when they aren't watching them.

Re: Bluetongue skink
Interesting. And probably very handy in such situations.
