Profile: Bubbles
So I decided to finally make a little thread about my iguana. Her (idk the sex I just say its a female) name is Bubbles. I got Bubbles from petco and she was the runt of the bunch I just couldn't stand to leave her there. She is not my first iguana I previously had one for a year and a half and one day she ran away (i was heartbroken). I had an empty 40b so when I saw this baby I had to bring her home. She was extremely skinny and I honestly didn't think she would last long but she's still kicking and you can hardly see ribs anymore! I have her on a diet of mustard greens, collard greens, carrots, snap peas, green beans, mushrooms, mangoes, plums, and occasionally some apple. Here is a pic from today she just shed yesterday. I was unable to find all the other pics I have to show how tiny and skinny she was when I got her I'll have to do some digging for them.

It's so awesome to watch them grow and they have a personality like no other. She loves coming out and roaming around and sitting in the window lol. Here's a little older pic I found of her as well.

Re: Profile: Bubbles
I really like iguanas. They get a pretty bad rep but i bet most "aggressive" iguanas have experienced poor husbandry and/or handling techniques. I
d definitely like to own one someday.

Aww your little guy is super cute and looks like he is doing really well!! I miss my Iggy. I love to see pics of the smaller ones. I had mine for 7yrs.. he was a rescue and in bad shape when we got him. Can you tell me what/how you house yours when they are full grown? I had mine in a small spare bedroom with a large bay window,2 fake 6ft tree's just plain spoiled..lol

I've never had one over 2ft yet so I haven't had to house an adult. She/he will either be getting a room to herself when she's bigger or else I will be building a custom enclosure. I know they get pretty darn big and need A LOT of space when they are older but she's only like 18" if that atm. Right now she is in a 40 breeder critter cage since I had it just laying around.

Re: Profile: Bubbles
Heres a new pic of Bubbles. She's roughly 18" give or take an inch or two. She's plumped up quite a bit over the past month and is going through food like crazy lately but I love seeing her get big. She just went through shed earlier today.
