Tank humidifiers? Not sure I've heard that term.

I use foggers on my cages. I put them on the top of the cage and the mist falls into the enclosure and creates beads of water on the plants that the chams drink. I find they increase the humidity in the cage VERY quickly as well.

I also hand mist all my cages at least twice a day. Here's a tip... use HOT water in your misters... as you spray, the water comes out just warm. If you start with cold water, it feels like ice on your cham and they HATE that!

Hope this helps!

Cheers!

Cool mist humidifiers work very well to raise ambient humidity. An ideal situation would be a closed off herp room with one working near the enclosures. With some humidifiers you can strap some piping to them, and direct them either in or around the enclosure of choice.

Some things to think about:
1- You will want to use green board(a type of drywall used for washrooms) or concrete board in the room or it will start to rot.

2- There have been some recent studies and speculation that bacteria can be carried around in the water vapour of a humidifier or fogger, making the entire room and enclosures bacteria laden although I don't know if this has been proven for sure.

3- Always use distilled water in a humidifier or the minerals in regular water will start to clog it up and you will have a white film on everything, especially glass.

I'll post more if I remember anything else,

Good luck,

Chris

I just use an ultrasonic humidifer near the chams cage (rotate it around the house). I clean it with disinfectant once a week (a pain, but..). I used to use the little foggers from Lee Valley .... "Mist Maker"??? Our water is so full of mineral that I burned them out quickly.
