Snakey senses!!
Went to reptile store and bought some frozen ratties today, came in the house and put them straight in the freezer yet all my snakies are cruising their vivs looking for food! Not even feeding day til Monday so itisnt their routine they obviously smelt the rats even tho they are frozen and tied up in a plastic bag!

Re: Snakey senses!!
My BP smells the rat the second it is taken out of the freezer and put into the fridge and he goes into 'hunting mode' until he gets his rat. Always goes beserk when I'm heating up the rat with a blow dryer

Re: Snakey senses!!
I wish my new snake only had a feeding response when there were rat smells involved, she bit my finger and tried to swallow it yesterday, had to break out the mouthwash.

Re: Snakey senses!!
Since I've had my BP, as soon as the rat is within reach, he's always struck perfectly, on the snout of the rat, then constricts violently for a good 10 mins. This Friday, he took like 15 minutes to finally strike, then he missed, bit down on the towel that was under the rat, and constricted the towel for a few minutes! When wasv finally done killing the towel, he stretched his mouth a few times, then took another 10 minutes to try another strike! Guess he was having an off day :P
