hi carl. no need to worry after 2 weeks. i'm sure it will eat when ready. as you may know, carpets aren't really 'chunky' species, so it sounds like he can spare to lose a little weight. keep us posted.

probably not best to try more than once a week. you could end up causing stress to the snake.

At that size he should be eating small to med rat no problem. I would wait a week a leave it alone then give it a try with a small rat. If he don't eat wait a another week. Don't handle till you have him eating regularly. BTW hello and welcome.

Re: new forum member
Just keep trying. If he appears otherwise healthy there should be no reason for concern. This week was weird with feeding for me. My best eaters refused to eat (I have decided it was because they were so close to laying), and my Oxide who had been off feed for about 6 weeks finally ate. Stubborn brat haha. This next week hopefully they will all gobble everything up to start recouping from the laying. I am going to feed the girls that skipped theirs tonight except Opal who still hasn't laid.
Welcome, and good luck, but you shouldn't need it, he'll probably eat soon.
