So found this at work yesterday not sure what its from anyone know a good way to clean it and if I should coat it with somthing figured with all the knowledgeable people here someone might know

boil it to kill any bugs or bacteria. if you want, you can buy a bleaching kit from any online taxidermy shop. or just leave it as is.

Kewl and thanx im usually not into the whole dead things decor but I found the long single spikes kinda intriguing they are about 2-3 feet long with no branches I was thinking elk maybe?

could be very young elk.

Yeah just did a quick search and ther are elk that only grow a single spike called well spike elk gotta love learning new things

It's pretty easy, make sure you boil it for long enough though. Bone contains fat/oils and you want as much of it to leave the bone as possible.

I cleaned a deer skull last year the best thing to do is go to bass pro shop or any hunting store and get the bleaching kits it has cleaner that will remove all the dirt and oils good luck.

I have a perfect set of white tail deer antlers that were shed in my front yard just under my apple tree...

Finding these things is always fun.
