Newbie
Hi everyone,
I'm 19 and from Ontario. I'm studying business in college here and teach dance. I've never owned a snake untill this weekend.
I have wanted a snake ever since kindergarten when one of the teachers at my school would bring in his 3 corns and let everyone pass them around.
My new little girl (corn) is still just a baby, about a foot in lenght. I named her Chimera but everyone calls her baby. I want to do this right the first time so if anyone has a helpful hint please send it my way.
Thanks!

Re: Newbie
Woohoo! Beat Wayne to another!
BAM!
Anywho, I've felt your pain. D; I'm also 19 and have wanted a snake for the past 14 years. Now I've finally got one <3 My first one actually died... No idea what happened, supposedly a neurological deal. So I got another one and it's doing great <3
That's an absolutely stunning corn you got there~ Looks like a Reverse Okeetee? I personally love Reverse Okeetees <3 I also think Chimera is a lovely name

Re: Newbie
Hello and Welcome Aboard! Congrats on your fulfillment of a life long dream! (Owning a snake) I look forward to watching that one snake become two....two become three.....etc. etc.
Corns are very easy to care for and an excellent beginner snake. Make sure she has a warm and a cool side in her enclosure, 85 f on the warm side and no cooler than 75 on the cool side. Give her a hide on each end. Some sort of loose substrate (aspen, coconut husks, eco earth) Corns especially young ones love to burrow and tunnel. Give her fresh water every couple of days. Clean her water dish thoroughly a couple times a week. Feed her mouse pinkies 1 a week until you can no longer see a noticeable bulge when she swallows, then either give her two pinks or increase the size to a mouse fuzzy. Check her cage daily for poop or urates and remove them when you see them. Give her some climbing branches, and lots of love.
I hope I have covered everything. Good Luck to you and your new friend!

Re: Newbie
Thanks everyone! Im happy to be here.
I think she is, I was looking at morphs the other day, and she looks more like a reverse oke. than anything else.
I'm just thinking she's very small for her age because she's atleast 8 months old...
