Identify this lizard I found?
I know nothing about lizards, just found this guy sitting in my backyard this morning and curious as to what kind it is? It's currently very lethargic and sunning itself on a wall, doesn't seem to be going anywhere...

That poor thing is an escaped pet.
Looks like a fat tail gecko half starved to death.
Warn it up and feed it crickets.

BTW, it matches the photo for the leopard gecko precisely, so I guess that is what it is.

Except that the one you found has already used up his reserves.
That tail is supposed to be fat and plump.
That poor lizard has not ate in over a month by the looks of it.

Well he's got a tank, lamp, heater, water and crickets. He's moving around quite a bit now but shows no interest in eating. The guy at the pet store said that if he is in bad shape I may need to force feed it?

It is a leopard gecko.
Ensure that it's hydrated first and foremost. Give it places to hide. What is your set up like?
Take out any crickets it isn't eating as they are quite vicious insects and will attack the lizard. Be sure to go with medium or small sized crickets to start and very few at a time. You want to warm up the digestive system before giving it too much or it won't be able to handle the load.

I bought a 10 gallon tank, put sand in it, put a 75w reptile lamp and heater mat one side, water tray and a half-log on the other. 3 crickets, medium size.
