Exclamation I'm new!

I am new to this.... Not only this sight but being a snake owner as well.. I have one BP named Melvin. He is about 3ft long. I have done a great deal of reading one the care of BPs and have gotten a great deal of answers that conflict each other...
I do have a very large tank 55 gal. I have heat lamps and hot pad hiding places one tree and a water dish. I use fake grass a liner. And gages for heat and humity. I believe I have a very nice set up! I take Melvin out an put him in our bath tub for feeding. Not sure if that's normal but have read not to feed in his tank. I hold him daily unless he was just fed or is shedding.
If anyone has any helpful hints or tip they would like to share please feel free!

Re: I'm new!

Hello and welcome! I myself feed mine in their cages. I don't like messing with them at all after they ate. My buddy Shawn feeds his in tubs. My snake don't try biting me all the time, his do. They think every time they get taking out of their cage they're going to get fed. Making them more aggressive IMO. He been bit over 30 times so far this year. Me! Not even a strike out of any of mine in over a year. Sound like you got a pretty good set up. You should post some pictures of your snake and cage.

Re: I'm new!

I feed all mine (except the arboreals) in a separate tub as i find it easier for me. Not had any issues with aggression at all in terms of getting them out of their vivs at other times between feeds.

I dont like to handle them just after feeding so i lift the tub up to the viv and let them slither back in rather than lifting them out of the tub.

In saying that tho - our BP has decided to stop eating again - two weeks ago he struck at but missed his food and since then has not eaten (think he is sulking!)
