Re: Wanna know something?
Compacts are known to cause eye problems. There's also a specific tube light that has a perfect amount of UV for any diurnal basking reptile and that's the repti-sun 10.0.
Shaun you wouldn't believe the crap I had to go through. When I first got her I had a perfectly fine UV setup. It was a small compact hood with two coil lights stuck under it. I also had a "backup" tube light with an extra hood just in case. This was before I found out(the hard way) that these would both screw over my lizard .__.
Basically I had bad UV on her for a good month or so before I found out it was bad. She was already having problems like lethargy, and signs of an uncomfortable beardie. I knew I had to do something so I switched her over to the tube light(reptiGLO 10.0 .__.) and thought it might make her better. But this tube lights been known to cause eye problems(which I found out later) and Squeak had been closing her eyes a little bit in addition to the lethargy and such. I had to take her off of this...And then this is when I ordered this nice new bulb that had great recommendations and no problems whatsoever. I waited almost a month for it and when I got it, it made her worse. Turns out I got one of the "bad bulbs" they have been sending out due to a fault in the company. This is where I am at now. I have to send the bulb back, and spend more money on a reptisun 10, and she will finally just be happy >.<
This is all while my big healthy fat beardie is having the time of his life, lol.
Anyway, I thought I had it all together just fine. I usually do have the right info first go but beardies just happen to give me bad luck, lol.
I dunno, whatever .__.
