Quail V. Chicks

does Anybody know how quail stacks up nutritionally against chicks. both are for sale on the site i get my mice (soon to order rats) from. i was wondering if my RTB would do well with quail and rats or would it be better to get chicks and rats?

Re: Quail V. Chicks

Quail are a lot smaller in bone size and muscle mass than chicks of the same size. I feed both as i believe its better for the snake to have some variation. Both quail and chicks are better than rats for your snakes, but in reality its your decision which one you choose as they are pretty similar and your snake will absolutely love either of them. Still feed rats but i would feed more birds than rats to my snakes.
Chicks come in larger sizes than quail, but your snake will happily eat both or one or the other.

Re: Quail V. Chicks

ok i might just get both and see which one they like better if it doesn't really matter. all my snakes are pretty small right now, under 30 inches, but that won't be the case for long.

They will be able to eat small chicks and quail at that size. They will absolutely love it and should smash them for you.
