rat? Mice would be more than big enough, I am not overly familiar with the size of a 20 dollar bill, but milks will rarely get big enough to take rats.

I'm not familiar with milk snakes but from the picture your snake looks to be of similar thickness of one of our snakes - which is eats F/T "small adult mice". Also, I've always read/been told to feed your snake a prey item that is similar to the widest/thickest part of your snake.

Looks roughly the same size as our adult corn - she eats "large fluffy's" (mice)

I am guessing by compareing the snake to the water bowl. Not the $20.00 bill. I believe the british notes is taller than the U.S. $20.00 bill. Plus rat pup are the same size as a adult mouse.

sub adult mice, rat pups or rat pinks.
my 4 foot Pueblan eats 3-4 small mice per meal and is doing fine.

Just word to the wise, that's a CANADIAN 20, and not a US
Onto the topic. I would go with a few adult mice. No milk needs to really touch rats. Go with what's easier to find in your area.

Re: blkjkoknhrt's snake - how big a prey item?
Thanks, gang. I just started feeding rat pups, but they're really the same size as lg adult mice, except the rat pups have bigger heads. I don't think the snake needs the extra bone and brain food, and both leave about the same size bulge in the snake. I'll stick to large mice, and feed an extra one once a month or so (I feed weekly and Pinky's always eager to eat.).

Rats are healthier than mice. Less fat.
