Sailfin Dragons

Since Willow asked I figured this would be the next post....the sailfins are legally my boyfriend Sarges but since I am the keeper of Eggs in our house, I get to help with them. Plus if any of them have a problem I am also Nurse Ratchet for them all!

Sooo that said:

This is Ferdinand, our male Webers.

These are our Wannabe Sailfins...due anytime after May 7:

And for some reason I don't have a pic of Imelda our female!

Of course and thank you!! We think they are wild caught (we've had them for a while) but they have never calmed down enough to even be caged without the 'nose rub' going on. Makes me sad for them honestly. I'm hoping the babies will be less spazzy!

Shaun, about 3 to 4 feet in length from what we've been able to find...that includes their tail though too

They really vary in price depending on the type of sailfin. I've seen the weberii (which is what I have) for 125ish plus shipping for babies. Older sexed pairs are generally more from what I've seen.

Re: Sailfin Dragons (update)

The babies hatched finally yesterday!!!!

First a pic of Mommy- Imelda:

Now for babies 1, 2 and 3. I wanted to name them but Sarge (the bf) has claimed all naming rights the poop head! They ARE his lizards though I do ALL egg incubation, and baby care.... <sniffle wah wah>

There were 4 eggs. We made the mistake of letting the two late exiters make their own exit as you would with BP eggs. Finally last night I went to check and they still were not out. So I assisted baby 3 who burst forth with a vengeance. Baby 4 was lifeless. Mistake made. This made me very sad. Lesson learned. We'll assist if this is the situation with Clutch 2.

In any event....here are the 3 survivors:

Baby 1:

Baby 2

AND Baby 3:moments after being helped from the egg....

And a bit later in its new community with its siblings:
