Breeding Fish as Food

Are there any types of fish available from the petstore that could be bred to be fed to snakes? I know rodents contain just about all the goodies your average snake needs, but isn't it good to supplement their diet with something different every now and then? Breeding mice and rats to feed them has it's downsides eg the smell and the possibility of escape. (If your fish escape - they aren't going to get very far). So what type of snakes can eat which kind of fish?

Most snakes will eat rodents and get everything they ever need. There are only a few species of small colubrids, like garter snakes, and aquatic snakes, like elephant trunk snakes and tentacled snakes, that really eat fish. Unless you have a snake that eats fish in the wild, it's not necessary and the rodents will be all it ever needs. If you're worried about nutrition, buy a high-quality lab diet type rodent food.

I don't even feed my garter snakes a lot of fish, when they are babies guppies are the best choice.

As soon as I can get them switched over to pinkies, I stop feeding guppies.

In emergencies I feed cut up tilapia from the grocery store.
