Re: Male Diamond Jaguar at 18 months
looking good Mark.
besides knowing what the parents were, is there anyway you can tell what percentage the jag is by looking at it?

I second Willows remarks! In my interest in acquiring a CP in the near future the Jag really grabs my attention. Running that 1400 dollar bill past the wife.. that's a different story! Beautiful snake my man!

Nope but in the ones that are 75% or higher you can usually guess the subspecies right off.
Like high percentage IJ or Bredli Jags do not look like the pure Coastal ones etc.
Just like with any Carpet Xs your best off getting it from a breeder who knows what it really is for sure.
I bred this guy myself so I know for sure, he could otherwise probably pass for a Jungle Jag. THX Mark

Maybe 2 years ago but not now Jaguars codom afterall
Pure Coastal Jaguars can be obtained for $400 or less now (CDN $) & all the rest are considerably cheaper now as well.
The Xs are more than the pure Coastals & the higher the percentage of whatever subspecies the more the others are worth.
Right now even I have one of his brothers up for $700 CDN which for an 18 month old 50/50 Diamond/CCP male is a screaming deal IMHO
When I got my first pair (pure CCP & a 50/50 CCP/JCP) out of Germany they cost me approx 7G.
The same pair now can be obtained here in Canada for less than a G easily.
With codoms its only a matter of time before they are not too much more than regular types.
I'd speculate to say you should be able to PU a 2010 CCP Jaguar in the US for $300 this year? THX Mark

Re: Male Diamond Jaguar at 18 months
Most of the ads in Canada right now they are starting at around $300 upto $500.
Saw pure CCP & some IJ jags listed for $300 CDN & some JCP jags for $500 CDN just yesterday from som folks I know.
Unless its something special (like het granite or het albino) & subadult to adult in age Jag prices have pretty much all but bottomed out at this point.
It happens to all codom animals eventually, little faster nowadays with the poor economy. Mark

Re: Male Diamond Jaguar at 18 months
Some really sweet looking snake. I have seen them for $300.00 to $450.00 on kingsnake.com. They usually are only on a day or two then gone.

Re: Male Diamond Jaguar at 18 months
Guess that's why is pays to shop around. I also know that the cheapest isn't always the best option either. I just remember googling CP images and when i came across the Jag i immediately had interest. So i clicked on the source which was a breeder which i didn't take note to other than that the price was in dollars..1400 if my memory serves me correctly. I remember calling the wife over to the computer to look at the pics and since she knows i'm in the market for them she said WOW that IS cool lookin.. how much. I said 1400 as i ducked farther into my chair. Her only response was..oh! Maybe there were some gene play into the pricing that i didn't take notice to. As much as Kingsnake annoys me to navigate thru cause there's so much crap on there i will have to do some surfin and hopefully with some luck i'll find a reputable breeder of CPs from the US. Kinda like Craigslist.. you really don't know who your dealing with.
