King is "yawing"...is this normal?

Yup, as you can probably tell, I'm new to this.

I recently acquired a California King, not sure how old but it's approximately 12"-14" long. I was looking at it today and it started yawning.

Needless to say, I thought I was seeing things and kept watching....it did it another 3 times withing approx. 6 mins.

Can anyone shed some light on this subject for me? I'm hoping he's just being cute and that he's not sick or something.

Thanks!!

LG

Snakes will yawn yep. They tend to do so more often when in shed, I think they do so to help start the shedding process partially. Mark

Sometimes you'll see them do it to readjust their jaws.
