Big yellow

Got a pair of these recently. I find wild ones all the time, but haven't kept any for some time. This is a c.b.

Yellow rats, also known as chicken snakes are Elaphe obsoleta quadrivittata. I've seen a few larger, but this one is about 6'. Very good climbers and strong constrictors. This particular one is squeezing my arm pretty good!

Yeah they are, at least c.b. ones. Even wild ones tame down quickly in most cases. Usually low priced, I think they are very underrated. It's kinda cool to watch them change from gray w/ brown blotches to different shades of yellow. The closely related everglades rat is generally more orange as an adult w/ lighter stripes. I'll post a pic of one of mine later.

I'd like to take credit in forcing Mark to get those beautiful yellow rats he has. They are after all the most beautiful of the North American obseleta next to LTR's.
