Securing a rubbermaid lid with s-hooks

Hey,

I am currently in the process of setting up a rubbermaid enclosure for a ball python I plan to get. I have several other snakes, but this will be my first python.

I was originally planning on using "bulldog" clips to secure the lid, but well browsing around on the forums I found a few threads that discuss using s-hooks to do the same.

Well these threads were helpful with descriptions, I'm still not 100% how the whole thing would work and the pictures in these threads are no longer working as most of them (the threads) are a few years old.

I think I get how the hook would attach to the bin itself, but I don't get how the hook would attach to the lid (if it does at all). I was wondering if anyone could post a photo or two of the s-hooks in action, or a link to where I can find a detailed description.

I apologize if this information is already readily available, I'm pretty sure I've done an extensive search.
