Brooks KingSnake

Hello,

I just tried to feed my snake for the first time. I did what i was told to do took the mouse out of the freezer, boiled some water, put the mouse in the water for like 5 mins. took it out let it cool on the counter for like 5 mins. put it in the box, it was going great until he got to the butt. He was struggling with it eventually after about one hour, he came off of it completly and would not go back on. is this normal ? i tried to offer him a smaller mouse by then he was just pissed. So I put him back in his enclosure. So i think that i will try feeding him again on Friday is this enough time to wait ?

Thank you

Re: Brooks KingSnake

Sounds like the prey item was too big.....especially since he has the will to eat.

I would knock it down a size and try again on Friday...couple of days he should be ready to go.

Also really watch the hot water thing, you don't want to heat the mouse up to much....even just leaving it out till it hits room temperature would probably be safer you don't want to cook/boil it.

Yea i just usually take warm water out of the fauset around 90 degrees and lay it in there for a bit. If the water cools down to much I add a little more warm water.
