Hello everyone ! I'm New !
Hi , I'm Ryan, 13 years old, live near Glasgow Scotland. I've had Sid, a childrens python, for a full year now. He's great, real character, never bitten anyone though my Dad is still wary! I keep a diary of feeds, shedding, photographs , he looks great.
My first question is can i introduce real plants into my vivarium & if so whats the best types of plants for a childrens python? I have a nice vivarium but would like to introduce a few plants.
Ryan

Re: Hello everyone ! I'm New !
First of all, welcome aboard! Second, congrats on being so responsible at your age to keep a diary of your snake. You will go far with herps having that attitude. You might want to try a peace plant to start. They are pretty hardy and won't hurt your snake. Good Luck!

Welcome to the forum!
You should have no trouble putting together a planted enclosure for a snake of that size. Just use sturdy non toxic plants with a low light requirement Pothos, Snake Plants, and Dracena are a few that come to mind.

Re: Hello everyone ! I'm New !
I would love to see that link brad, but just for the record how many snakes do you own right now, not asking for breeds just number.

Re: Hello everyone ! I'm New !
Ryan, if you want to see part of my collection just go to my website Traveling Tails Home
It's just easier that way, oh and they are all on there, but a good bit are.

Re: Hello everyone ! I'm New !
Thanks everyone, have added a dracena & another plant i can't spell!
I've have noticed the vivarium mists more now the plants are there but sid seems ok with this. He's quite nosey & seems to like the plants.
Snake Guru - over 50 snakes....wow! Another question, Sid is a childrens python & i only feed him rat pups (frozen then defrosted - i heat the rat pups slightly over a lamp for a few seconds before i feed Sid) i tried once with baby mice but Sid did'nt eat them (they had fur on).
Can anyone recommend something else to try to give Sid some diffrenet things to eat ? The breeder fed him pinkies when he was younger according to the notes.
